1st Lesson With Dr-Dogs

Scallop finally got to start his first proper comprehensive obedient class with Stanley and Serene of Dr-Dogs. We were told to arrive 15 mins earlier (4.15pm) so that the students will have time to socialise before the start of the actual class. Scallop was real timid and kept backing away from his classmates.
Among the 6 students, Scallop is the only Miniature Schnauzer, unlike the previous class which has 4 of them!

Besides Scallop, the rest of the class are made up of :
Max : the 3.5 months old Golden Retriever
Travis : also a Golden Retriever, but he's an adult and huge
Princess : Shih Tzu
Puppy : Silky Terrier? <- to be confirmed next lesson
?? : a really fierce Jack Russell <- will find out name next lesson

Though he's timid, Scallop behaved superbly throughout and made us really proud. His sit-stay was very consistent and has the longest duration. All thanks to his twice daily 10 minutes sit-stay exercise before meals.

Main take-aways from today's class to practise and enforce :
- Scallop must sit immediately upon command and not walk here walk there before sitting
- Scallop must always walk on the handler's left
- Scallop must stop being a vacuum cleaner
- Scallop must try to stop turning around to face the handler during a sit-stay exercise when the handler walks behind him

And some useful reminders :
- 4-8 months will be a tough period when Scallop changes his baby teeth to adult ones, he may vomit and have diarrhea and lose his appetite and will chew everything in sight
- has to rid Scallop of his separation anxiety problem

Looking forward to the next class to learn the proper way to teach him the 'Down' command, which we had tried unsuccessfully so far.

Fish4Dogs Training Treat + Daybed

More purchases! Got 3 more packs of Dogswell Duck & Chicken Breast Treats (S$36.25) and Fish4Dogs Super Star Training Treats (S$5.95) from PLC Eastpoint. This time round, we brought Scallop along and he was on a leash and roaming round the place sniffing at everything! He seems overwhelmed by all the dog food, treats, toys etc. Haha!

After dinner, we went over to Desmond's (Bubbly Petz) place to collect Scallop's new day bed (S$14.90) + clicker (S$7.90). They were so kind to also include a black Unpet Mr Bear squeaky pet toy as a gift (worth S$12.90 according to their website)! We appreciate the gesture so very much!

1st Piece of Clothing

Noticed that Scallop seems to be suffering from chills after his hair cut, plus the fact that the general average temperature appears lower than usual, so decided to buy him a piece of clothing to help retain his warmth.
Wife visited PLC Nex and bought him the following top for S$25.15.
